We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Ortho Tech at our Seacoast Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Somersworth, NH location. Join our fast-paced team supporting 21 MDs and PAs! Our goal is to provide the highest quality of care in the safest environment. In addition to applying casts, splints & DME, the cast tech provides patient education on casting and splinting as well as triages patient concerns.
Experience Minimum Required
• 1-3 years related patient care experience
Experience Preferred/Desired
• 1-3 years experience in orthopedics, 6 months experience as an Ortho Tech
Education Minimum Required
• Successful completion of Ortho Tech program and Ortho Tech Cert or Registered Ortho Tech within 1 year of hire.
Special Skills Minimum Required
• Ability to perform tasks requiring extensive hand-eye coordination
• Strong computer skills
• Basic medical terminology
• Ability to organize work priorities and meet specific objectives under time constraints
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong interpersonal skills
Special Skills Preferred/Desired
• Extensive knowledge in the theories and practice of orthopedics
• Thorough knowledge of orthopedic nomenclature anatomy and disease process
Licensure and/or Certifications Required
• Orthopedic Technologist Certified (OTC) within 1 year of hire

Orthopaedic Technicians
Starting Salary: $23/hour, commensurate with experience
Full time position

Job Responsibilities:
- Assists/performs cast removal and application, applies braces, DME and dresses wounds as directed by physician.
- Provides patient education on care and maintenance of case or splint. Educates patient on extremity signs and symptoms of ill-fitting cast/splint.
- Supports the provider with patient examinations and procedures to ensure optimal patient care. Includes entering of patient vitals, medication and clinical history intake.
- Assists the front office staff with patient scheduling, patient callbacks, organizing patient charts, coordinating patient referrals, and securing appropriate insurance approvals.
- Performing clinical duties such as obtaining vitals, cleaning instruments, preparing exam rooms and arranging for any necessary special equipment.
Education:
Completion of a formal Orthopedic Technologist program
Medical Assistant experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Proficiency in computer use/keyboarding, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs,
